I’m almost iconic
It won’t last but I’ll take it
I just pass through
Closing after 37 years
Salumi, Seattle Art Walk and my doctor
“PSQ is a destination, there aren’t many places to linger and hang out.
There’s a bar I like down there…
I did the Seattle Ghost tour once.
It was good for some interesting historic facts,
but I’m cynical enough to just believe my own BS.
But Pioneer Square gets the bottom layer of the tourism with those activities.
I like to go there for Salumi, the art walk…and my doctor is there.”
Heard on Capitol Hill
“My husband works down there.
The reason my bookstore is here is because psq gets such a big tourist
population and most people have bought their books before they go on vacation.
But I like what’s going on with all the development.
In five years it’s really going to be something. I love going to The Mercantile.”
It’s kind of newer architecture

People of Pioneer Square: More people bum cigarettes from me here…
People of Pioneer Square: Kerry
“Someone bought one of my Mr. McGoo paintings for $100.”
Kerry works on the stoop every night after 6pm or
when the doors officially close to the office building and it’s not raining.
He lives and works in one of the local galleries.
The owner hires him to clean his supplies and do evening security.
How great that one artist is helping another.
