OK, but do we have to wait ANOTHER ten years to be cool? Um….I will be really old by that time so I hope it will be cool to be old.
Goodness I hope not! I think it’s pretty cool now! And, I understand what she means. Columbia City, Ballard, and some other neighborhood pockets have a bit less grit. But as a result, they are also a little less balanced. It means that the homeless in Ballard, or Columbia City are a little less welcome there, and a little more welcome here. I wonder what the homeless or folks in need of services would look like if every neighborhood had a committment to affordable house (and related services) in every neighborhood. And, if every neighborhood had a section for artists. Truly curious.
